Hafiz from Ghana thrives in the US

CIJF has funded legal services for nearly 100 asylum seekers the past two years. We are always grateful to hear stories of our clients successfully adjusting to life in the US. 

Hafiz is from Ghana, and a CIJF-funded attorney helped him win asylum in 2023. On the anniversary of winning asylum, he surprised his attorney with flowers and lunch. 

He is currently working at an acute care center as a certified nurse assistant (CNA) and attending school to become a RN. He recently purchased a car, and drove it to his attorney’s office to surprise her!
