CIJF stands in support of immigrants
CIJF and Casa de Paz are closely linked sister organizations. CIJF was founded by Casa de Paz visitation volunteers who saw the need to fund legal services for immigrants they met in detention.
In response to the uncertainty caused by the presidential election, Casa de Paz leadership released this statement in support of immigrants.
The CIJF team stands in full agreement with their statement and commitment to support immigrants. We hope the same will be true of the entire CIJF community.
It's the season of giving!
Thus far In 2024, we have funded the legal services for more than 30 asylum cases for immigrants in Colorado and California.
We have also provided funding to lay the groundwork for legal services in underserved areas of Louisiana – where roughly 20% of all detained asylum seekers in this country are imprisoned.
If you are looking for end of year giving opportunities, donations to CIJF can be further boosted by donating via the Colorado Gives Day website. Donations made in this manner are supplemented by the Community First Foundation’s $1 million matching incentive.
Many thanks to all of our partners in this work; we appreciate you!
With hope and gratitude,
Greg Mortimer, on behalf of the Colorado Immigrant Justice Fund team
