The generosity of the CIJF community
On August 27th, the Colorado Immigrant Justice Fund hosted its first-ever in-person celebration and fundraiser!
We are grateful that more than 80 of you joined us that afternoon! We had a great time hearing from immigrants, immigration attorneys, CIJF volunteers, and other immigrant advocates.
By the time the event was over, 59 people and organizations donated over $36,000 to the cause, surpassing our goal of $20,000.
Your generosity is overwhelming and while we cannot adequately thank you, we found eight different ways to express our gratitude in the picture above. 😊
What your gifts will do
Your gifts open the door for us to do the following:
Continue funding Elizabeth Lopez - an immigration attorney who provides legal services in a remote and underserved detention center in Calexico, California
Fund additional legal services for immigrants detained in Colorado
Invest in grant-writing efforts, as we have been told that our work is "very fundable"
Fund more legal services for Afghans who are in hiding in their own country after the US abruptly departed last year
We will continue to keep you updated on the work we are doing. In the meantime, please know that we are profoundly grateful for your partnership as we seek to support newly arrived immigrants.
With gratitude,
Greg Mortimer on behalf of the Colorado Immigrant Justice Fund team
